NAMI Montana Closes Out An Amazing Legislative Session

Montana’s Legislature adjourned this week. We were able to work with legislators and partners to have some amazing success. Some of these successes like changing Montana’s behavioral health financing system were years in the making.

Other’s like expanding Montana’s forensic bed capacity were a sprint. Starting with a window of opportunity in January and then closing out in the final days of May. This was an amazing opportunity for a long-term infrastructure change to help reduce the number of Montanans with serious mental health conditions in our jails.
