Affiliates In Action

A small mountain stream flowing through a forest with tall evergreen and deciduous trees, some with yellow and orange leaves, a wooden bridge crossing over the stream, and rocks along the banks.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

- Margaret Mead

Local Leadership, Statewide Impact

NAMI affiliates are volunteer-led, community-based organizations that extend NAMI Montana’s mission into towns and cities across the state. Rooted in lived experience, these local groups provide free support, education, and advocacy tailored to the needs of their communities. Each affiliate strengthens the mental health safety net by creating connection, reducing stigma, and building hope close to home.

Free Support & Education

Local affiliates offer peer-led support groups, evidence-based education programs, and public awareness events designed for individuals living with mental health conditions and for those supporting a loved one. Meetings may be held in person or online, ensuring accessibility for rural and underserved areas. Every program is confidential, welcoming, and grounded in shared understanding.

Growing Montana’s Mental Health Network

With affiliates serving communities across Montana, the network continues to expand to meet emerging needs. NAMI Montana partners with local leaders to establish new affiliates, strengthen grassroots advocacy, and bring trusted mental health resources to more towns and counties statewide. Together, these local efforts create lasting impact for individuals, families, and communities.
