On June 26th, NAMI Montana's Director Matt Kuntz testified at the U.S. House of Representative's Committee on Veterans' Affairs, Subcommittee on Health in a hearing entitled, "Beyond the Million Veterans Program: Barriers to Precision Medicine."

Matt was testifying on behalf of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and NAMI Montana. NAMI Montana has had a focus on improving the mental illness diagnostic process for years and we were honored to be chosen to represent NAMI on this critical issue. We are deeply grateful to NAMI's Executive Director Angela Kimball and her team for all of their support and trust.

Matt testified on a panel with:
  • Dr. Magali Haas, MD, PhD, CEO and President of Cohen Veterans Bioscience;
  • Dr. Carolyn Clancy, MD, Deputy Under Secretary for Discovery, Education, and Affiliated Networks in the Veterans Health Administration;
  • Dr. Rachel Ramoni, DMD, ScD, Chief Research and Development Officer Office of Research and Development Veterans Health Administration
  • Dr. Sumitra Muralidhar, PhD, Director of the Million Veteran Program, Office of Research and Development, Veterans Health Administration
The bipartisan policy movement to improve the status of the brain health diagnostic process for veterans is picking up speed. We are really excited to have a members of our team involved in the process.

If you're interested, you can watch the hearing at the video below or at this link. There was a delay in the hearing, so the testimony doesn't begin until 1:18:03. Matt's testimony doesn't begin until 1:38:17.

Have a great 4th of July!
